Made a movie and then exported it, when played, part of the video freezes and then goes dark. (I deleted all of the files except for the exported video, due to the lack of space in hard drive)

I created a movie and then exported it, when played I try to play it, part of the video freezes and then goes dark. (I deleted all of the files except for the exported video, due to the lack of space in hard drive). In imovie the video looked perfect. When I try to jump ahead of the part where it freezes it goes dark. In some occasions in my TV it says something about the file being corrupt. Also, in my USB, the file size says more than 600MB but in the TV it says 500MB. What can I do? How can I make the video go visible again.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

What were the export settings? You appear to be playing it on your TV which may only accept certain formats. Does it play on your computer with Quicktime Player? If not try playing it on your computer with VLC player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html). This seems to be the best application for playing problematic videos.

You may need to convert it to a format suitable for your TV using for example the Handbrake application.

It seems that there is some real corruption in the video file. Since iMovie created it does it accept it if you try to import it? I would also see if Handbrake is able to convert it. Drag the file into the Handbrake window and choose Constant Framerate rather than the default Variable Framerate then click on start. It is very likely that it will crash though. You could use Quicktime Player to try to split the video into two good pieces, before and possibly after the problem part.

That's all I can suggest.
